Solidarity

Acting responsibly and in solidarity

Perles & Co has always been a committed economic player. We strive to reconcile the economy, our values and the world around us, while always putting people at the heart of our actions.

Donations and partnerships

Every month, Perles & Co supports a wide range of associations such as Hôpital sourire, Les blouses roses, Clown Z'hôpitaux, Idapi, Arbres & Paysages tarnais, la Croix Rouge..., thanks to the solidarity donations made by our customers at the time of purchase (1% of the order).

Partnership with ESAT Albi

Committed to equal opportunities, Perles & Co works in collaboration with several ESATs (establishments and services for the disabled) for the packaging of certain items. Some fifteen disabled workers work full-time on this task.

Our team

Putting people at the heart of the company

At Perles & Co, we attach great importance to the working conditions and quality of our employees. Numerous solutions are put in place to promote well-being in the workplace and respect for work/life balance, such as family-friendly working hours, so that our employees can fully enjoy their work.

In the warehouse
Workstations and areas are designed with safety in mind (adapted tables, clear aisles, alternating tasks, coordinated breaks, etc.). Training in "gestures and postures" limits occupational hazards.
In the offices
Workstation ergonomics are taken into account, enabling employees to benefit from screens and seats that are as healthy as possible.
For all employees
We train our employees and welcome work-study students to pass on our know-how. We encourage open-mindedness: some of our employees have a complementary activity that enriches the company. Exchange, trust, conviviality... Employees are at the heart of our thinking, and we support everyone's careers.
Durability

Living more sustainably every day

Every little bit counts. We have set up a number of concrete actions to reduce our environmental impact.

In the warehouse

  • Preference given to paper packaging (e.g. dried flowers)
  • Development of bulk packaging to limit the use of plastic bags
  • Biobased Minigrip bags (minimum 20% sugar cane) with reusable repositionable labels
  • Operation to recover Minigrip bags from customers to give them a second life
  • Recyclable adhesive tape for closing orders
  • Matelasseuse to transform supplier cartons into shipping jams

In the offices

  • Raising awareness of everyday eco-gestures
  • Shared vegetable garden on our site
  • Encouraging car-pooling and soft mobility
  • Sea or land transport preferred to air for purchases

For all employees

  • Personal water bottles (no more plastic bottles)
  • Electric vehicle charging station
  • Generalized waste sorting
  • Coffee beans and personal cups (no pods or disposable cups)
  • Coffee grounds used as natural fertilizer
  • Company organic vegetable garden managed by volunteers (beans, tomatoes, strawberries, herbs...)
  • Participation in reforestation actions with the Arbres & Paysages Tarnais association
  • Prohibition of disposable cups

Quality

Product quality charter

In addition to our 60,000 bead and component references, our priority is to ensure the conformity and quality of our products in complete transparency, for the satisfaction, health and well-being of our customers.

Sourcing suppliers
We rigorously select our suppliers according to strict criteria of quality, ethics and traceability. Each partnership is based on a lasting relationship of trust. We give preference to suppliers committed to a responsible approach, and visit their workshops to ensure that our requirements are met.
Compliance and quality control
Our products comply with the strictest European standards (REACH, EN71) and are regularly tested by independent laboratories. To guarantee compliance, we use state-of-the-art equipment: XRF spectrometer to analyze metals, gemtester to authenticate natural stones. Each batch is inspected on receipt by our trained teams to detect any anomalies.
Guaranteeing the quality of our products
Fancy, yes, but sustainable. With us, disposable jewelry is out of the question! We firmly believe that quality rhymes with durability. That's why we carefully select materials and manufacturing techniques to bring you pieces that really stand up to everyday wear and tear.

Recycling

Reuse is the key!

At Perles & Co, we apply the 3R rule: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

For several years now, we've been working to reduce our consumption of plastic and packaging, particularly the small bags that pack your pearls. The alternatives (paper, cardboard, kraft) are not always suitable, whereas our current bags are reusable and transparent - practical for storing and viewing your pearls.

Did you notice the green border on our bags? They're now partially bio-sourced (sugar cane) and made in France by Minigrip, our long-standing partner.

How can you reuse your plastic bags?

We're launching a system to recover your plastic bags. Many of you have accumulated them over the years. Thanks to your participation, we'll be able to reduce our purchases of new bags by reusing yours directly.
1
Select from your bags those that are in good condition, and whose "zip" closure works. No matter the size or color of the piping - red or green, we're happy with either!
2
We will then ask you to remove the label from each bag. If the label doesn't come off cleanly, we won't be able to reuse it, so you can keep it.
3
We take bags of all sizes, but they must be sorted and separated by format in the envelope (you can, for example, separate each format with a rubber band). You will then need an envelope or flat cardboard box no more than 3 cm thick once filled. Please do not add anything else to your shipment!
4
Then stick it on your parcel and drop it off at a post office or yellow letterbox.
