How do I shape my ring?
There are two techniques for shaping your bracelet:
- Use a bending tool—it will allow you to easily bend the brass base and shape it into a ring.
- Use pliers to bend the metal. Just like with the ImpressArt tool, you’ll be able to create curves without scratching or marking the surfaces.
You can texture the metal to create beautiful effects or simple patterns on your blank.
Also, consider personalizing your ring before bending it using the Dremel engraver or the jewelry engraving pen. Be careful not to use steel engraving punches, which are designed for304 and 308 stainless steel. It’s also compatible with other metals that have a Rockwell hardness of 66 HRC. They should not be used with harder steels such as 316L steel (between 70 and 90 HRC).
This metal engraving technique does require a bit of practice, so we recommend practicing on a test piece before you begin.
