What is a Himmeli?
Himmeli is a Scandinavian Christmas decoration, but in recent years, it has become a popular decorative element throughout the home.
It’s a pyramidal mobile—sometimes quite intricate—made from straws or tubes suspended from the ceiling.
The straws are cut and tied together with string. To cut the straws, you can use a bocfil (a small saw) along with a pair of jewelry pliers to hold the straw in place without crushing it.
A single string runs through the inside of a himmeli to hold the structure together.
You can also make a hanging planter for your plants, a terrarium, and, of course, unique jewelry!
