How to make a cherry pompon?

The fruit of the season, you guessed it... it's the cherry, and we love it! Eating or decorating, cherries are everywhere. In this tutorial, find out how to make a cherry pompon to customize your bags or baskets.

Step 1:
Using the red wool, make a first pompon with your pompon maker. Then make a second one.

Step 2:
Cut a piece of brown wool between 20 and 25cm or whatever length you want between your two cherries. Then prepare your cherry leaves, cutting 10 pieces of green wool between 5 and 10cm.

Step 3:
Now place the brown wool you've cut.
Wrap the brown yarn around the pom-pom, then tighten gently so as not to damage the pom-pom. The brown thread should be covered by the red wool ends. Do the same for the other pompom with the end of the brown wool. Your pom-poms are now connected!
Be careful not to over-tighten your brown wool end to avoid difficulties in the next step.

Step 4:
To place the green threads (the leaves), pass your green wool ends on either side of your brown wool and make a double knot. Place as many as you like, depending on the look you want to achieve. Once the leaves are in place, you can trim them into any shape you like.

Step 5:
Do the same for the other pompom.

Step 6:
All that's left is to even out the pom-pom threads to give a beautiful finish and your cherry pom-poms are finished!
