Tie the wire to a small faceted wooden bead. Tie a double knot and put a dab of glue on the knot.

Make this DIY trivet quickly and easily using wooden beads and linen thread. This Scandinavian-inspired decorating tutorial is the perfect complement to your "Hygge" interior. Choose to leave the beads loose like a garland to place the trivet as you wish, or glue the beads together to keep the trivet square. Please note! Some beads may be varnished, so sand them with sandpaper.

Tie the wire to a small faceted wooden bead. Tie a double knot and put a dab of glue on the knot.

Apply 2 cm of glue to the end of the wire and smooth with your fingers. This step stiffens the wire, making it easier for the beads to pass through.

String the beads, alternating 20 mm faceted beads and 12 mm beads. Place your trivet as shown in the photo to see how much wire you need to place the trivet correctly.

Tie the thread to the last bead with a double knot, then apply a dab of glue to the knot.

You can also give it a more festive look by painting the beads red for Christmas, for example.
