This tutorial project won't take you long, it's about decorating a pair of gilded creoles with fine gold which has the particularity of having a recessed band with borders. These earrings are ideal to customize with ribbons, cords, strips of fabric or Miyuki bead weaving. All the variations are possible and the polymer designers can also give themselves to heart joy, it takes very little paste to roll up the creoles and give them color. We could decline this tutorial by making a small duck which would add a pattern to the earrings but here it is with the texture of the Fimo leather effect that we have fun.
Take a piece of Fimo leather effect dough, heat the dough between your hands and make a cylinder, crush it under your fingers before passing it through the dough machine starting with the widest notch and then roll the dough down to the second to last thinnest notch.
Cut two strips 7 mm wide by 10 cm long.
Gently stretch your pasta strips so that the texture of the leather effect is more visible. Position your strips on the creoles, make sure they are in good contact with the metal to avoid air bubbles from cooking. Cut off excess dough on both sides.
Bake your pieces in a traditional oven at 130 degrees for 30 minutes, the creoles are metallic and have no problem to pass in the oven at this temperature.
Once your curls have cooled down you can gently lift the Fimo strip and apply a few drops of glue to seal the two parts. Your earrings are already finished, feel free to browse through the Fimo leather paste category where you will find other nice colours.
