Thanks to Loïs from Bijoux de Loïs for this lovely tuto! Something to modernize your key rings!
Step 1:
Start by making a uniform slab of white Premo polymer clay, using a roller or dough machine, to form the base of the key ring.
Step 2:
Cut out the clay using a cookie cutter.
Step 3:
Soak a wipe with a few drops ofPinata ink, and pat the ink onto your white base.
Step 4:
Take Terracotta-colored polymer clay and roll it out into a sheet from which you can cut the shape of the pot with a cutter.
Step 5:
To mark the top of the pot, turn your blade over to the non-sharp side and press gently on the pot to make a demarcation.
Step 6:
Mix two equal parts of Premo green polymer clay to obtain a pretty plant color.
Step 7:
Make small rolls which you will model into drops to form the body of the cactus.
Step 8:
Form tiny balls with Sculpey Soufflé Mai Tai polymer clay.
Step 9:
Using the needle, apply them to the top of the cactus.
Step 10:
Use Posca acrylic to symbolize the prickles on the cactus and decorate the pot.
VariationStep 11:
Finely grate dry pastels with your blade, and finger-apply them to your base.
Step 12:
Form an earth-toned ball into a pot shape. Roll out a thin rectangular strip.
Step 13:
Apply the strip to the top of the pot to make the rim, and cut off the domed part so that the top is flat.
Step 14:
Form rolls of green clay, then texture with a needle.
Step 15:
Make small balls of red clay again.
Step 16:
Flatten the balls using the needle, to give them a petal shape.
Step 17:
Then place them on top of the largest cactus.
Variation:Step 18:
Finger-apply Pearl Ex powder pigments to the contours of your base.
Step 19:
Make a green plate and cut out the desired cactus shape with your scalpel.
Step 20:
For an unstructured effect, align the elements asymmetrically.
Step 21:
Add a touch of whimsy with dots and dashes drawn with white Posca.
Step 22:
Bake at 180°C for 20 minutes.
Step 23:
Then assemble your key ring: insert the open ring into the small hole in the pendant, then into the ring on the key ring (Reminder: How to open an open jewelry ring).
Add the suede tassel... And your keyring is ready to use!
