Take your coral braid and place it on the black fabric. Use transparent thread to hand-sew the braid.

Take your gold sequin ribbon and place it on a line of the braid to sew it straight. Stitch your needle from the inside of the hat to the outside, out one sequin hole, in the next. You don't have to sew in all the holes - you can leave larger gaps.

You can sew cowrie shells onto braids, putting them in pairs. On the front, back and 2 sides of the hat.

We also suggest a more bohemian version with a braid combining lace and tassels.
