How to make a long necklace with wooden beads?

Here's a jewelry DIY to create a wooden bead necklace in pastel colors... A creative idea that takes less than 30 minutes!

Light wood and pastel colors are featured in this tutorial. Very simple to make, all you need are wooden beads, several colors of paint and thread. We've chosen to paint some of the beads black for contrast and to add a touch of chic with metallic gold beads.

This jewelry tutorial is infinitely adaptable: you can mix and match colors and shapes to create a piece of jewelry that reflects your image and your mood.

1. Paint two faceted wooden beads with black paint. Use two coats for complete opacity.
2. Paint one round bead with powder pink paint and two other half-round beads with masking tape. Apply two coats for complete opacity. Be sure to let the paint dry thoroughly between coats. We chose Chalky Finish paint because it's a water-based, covering chalk paint for an ultra-matte, chalky, velvety look!
3. Once the paint is dry, all you have to do is thread the beads onto a wire. Here, we've chosen Lizbeth cotton thread in pink to add lightness to this necklace, but there's nothing to stop you from using a very fine chain (please ensure that the diameter of the chain is less than 2mm).

Your long necklace is finished! You can wear it with all your favorite outfits.
