DIY Macramé butterfly with Miyuki Delicas 11/0 perls insertion

Fold a 30 cm long golden thread in 2. Prick a pin in the loop and wedge the 2 ends in a notch of the board. (body threads)

On each side of the loop, add a 30 cm golden thread folded in third, short part downwards, in a knot of allouette. (Antenna threads)

Add 2 golden threads of 30cm in a baguette knot on the left thread then on the right thread. (guide wires of the 2 big wings)

Block the antenna wires at the top of the board.

On the first wing guide wire place 3 golden wires of 25cm, folded in 2, in a lark's knot and adding a half key on each side.

Next, attach 2 x 25cm gold wires in a horizontal rod.

Next, place 4 golden threads of 25cm, folded in 2, in a lark's knot and adding half a key on each side.

Repeat these 3 operations for the second wing.

So we have 16 threads on each side coming down from each of the 2 wing guide threads.

On the first of the 16 threads obtained in the previous step, starting from the body, fix 1 thread of 40cm "old gold" color, folded in 2, in a lark's knot, then tie the 2 threads obtained in vertical rods on the 14 following golden threads. On the last golden thread, tie only one of the 2 threads.

Repeat this operation on the 2nd wing

thread an 11/0 seed bead on each thread starting on the 2nd thread until the second to the last, i.e. 14 beads on each wing

Under the 2nd bead placed in the previous step, starting from the body, attach 1 white thread of 30cm, folded in 2, in a lark's knot, then tie the 2 threads obtained in vertical rods under the next 10 beads. Under the last bead, tie only one of the two white threads.

Repeat this operation on the 2nd wing.

thread an 11/0 seed bead under each white rod, starting under the 3rd and continuing under the next 7 white rods, i.e. 8 beads on each wing

Under the second bead placed in the previous step, starting from the body, attach 1 old gold wire of 20cm, folded in 2, in a lark's knot, then tie the 2 wires obtained in vertical rods under the 4 following beads. Under the last bead, tie only one of the two threads.

Repeat this operation on the 2nd wing.

take the second guide wire of the large wings, and place it on top of the 16 golden wires.

Fix each of the 16 wires by making 2 half keys.

Make 2 more half-keys directed upwards with the last golden wire, then the same on the first guide wire of the large wings. Finish the point by making 2 half-keys downwards again, this time taking the 2 guides at the same time.

Repeat this operation on the 2nd wing

separate the threads of each wing to see more clearly

on the body wires, add 1 gold wire of 20cm in a rod knot on the left wire then on the right wire. (guide wires of the top of the 2 small wings)

place the thread on the 16 golden threads, and fix the first 8 by making 2 half key with each of them

Repeat this operation on the 2nd wing

On the first of the 8 threads kept in the previous step, starting from the body, fix 1 thread of 30cm "old gold" color, folded in 2, in a lark's knot, then tie the 2 threads obtained in vertical rods on the 6 following golden threads. On the last golden thread, tie only one of the 2 threads.

Repeat this operation on the 2nd wing.

string a 11/0 seed bead under each old gold rod, starting under the 2nd and continuing under the next 4 white rods, i.e. 5 beads on each wing

Under the 2nd bead placed in the previous step, starting from the body, fix 1 white wire of 10 cm under the 2nd bead by making a vertical rod, at about 3 cm from its end, then do the same under the 2 following beads.

Repeat this operation on the 2nd wing

on the body threads, add 1 gold thread of 20cm in a baguette knot on the left thread then on the right thread. (guide wire of the bottom of the 2 small wings)

Fix on each of the 8 threads by making 2 half key.

Make 2 more half-keys directed upwards with the last golden thread, then the same on the first guide of the large wings. Finish the tip by making 2 more half-keys downwards, this time taking the 2 guides at the same time.

Repeat this operation on the 2nd wing

take the 2 wires of a first antenna

pass the big wire under the small one which will be the guide and make 20 half keys starting the first one in the direction of the wing then alternating on one side then the other of the guide.

Form a bridge by getting closer to the wing then fix the 2 wires that come from the wing by 2 half-keys each. place a seed bead on the second wire. make 2 half-keys with the last wire on the guide, then 2 half-keys with the wire of the bead and finally 2 half-keys with the last remaining wires.

Repeat this operation for the 2nd antenna

take the two body wires (under the small wings attachment) and fix them together by a central knot

cut all the threads at 1 or 2 mm from the edge and burn them
