We hear more and more about this metal (or alloy rather), but what is gold-filled? Developed in the United States, it is a goldsmithing technique that consists of applying a 14K gold finish on a metal base, usually brass. The weight of the gold alloy corresponds to 1/20 of the total weight of the product, which is about 50 to 100 times more than in a gold-plated product.

If you are interested, you will find on our site many 14K gold filled primers and chains to make a multitude of DIY jewelry. But be aware that you can work with gold filled. In the form of wire, it can be shaped and in the form of plates, it can be welded, sawn, engraved or punched. Perfect if you want to make a personalized jewel!
