Prometheus Jeweller's new Sterling White Bronze clay makes it easy to create all types of pieces or sculptures.
The advantage of this "jeweller's" clay is that it gives your creations a white silver effect.
The clay can be spread, rolled, sculpted, incised, cut...
During firing, the binder burns off, leaving behind a solid piece of pure, silver-colored bronze. You can create jewelry, jewelry components or customized tools.
Prometheus Jeweller's sterling White Bronze clay needs to be fired in a kiln and has a shrinkage rate of 15-16%.
- Place the dried piece(s) in an oven preheated to 500°C.
- Bake for 10 minutes, remove the rack, place it on a heat-resistant surface and leave to cool.
- Place approximately 3 cm of activated charcoal in a steel container. Place the pieces, spacing them at least 1.5 cm apart, and finish filling the container with activated charcoal.
- Put the lid on and place in the oven, preheated to 770°C.
- Let the oven rise again to the target temperature and cook for 2 hours.
- Once fired, leave to cool in the oven, or remove it, place it on a heat-resistant surface and allow it to cool before picking up your pieces.
Tip: Before firing your pieces, test the accuracy of your oven by firing a small piece of clay. Depending on the result of your test, you can increase the baking temperature by up to 5%.
