At Perles & Co, we are keen to reduce our environmental impact and believe that the 3R rule - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle - is fundamental.
For several years now, we have been looking for solutions to reduce our consumption of plastic and packaging. One of our main focuses is to reduce the number of small plastic bags in which your favorite beads and components are packaged. However, alternative solutions such as paper, cardboard or kraft are not always practical or suitable for our products. The advantage of today's bags is that they're reusable and transparent! It's true, they're a handy way of storing your beads while still being able to see what you've got.
Over the past few months, you may have noticed that the edging on our plastic bags has changed color (it used to be red, now it's green). The plastic used in these bags is partially bio-sourced (sugar cane). We've been working with the Minigrip brand, whose bags are made in France, since the early days of Perles & Co.
But for us, that's still not enough...
Reuse is the key!
With this in mind, we're setting up a process to recover these little plastic bags. We know that many of you have accumulated a lot of them over the years. Thanks to all the bags we're going to recover, we'll be able to reduce the number of new bags we buy, and directly reuse the ones you send back to us!
We know what you're thinking: that's great, but how?
It's simple: we offer to send them straight back to you, at our expense!
It couldn't be easier: just follow these simple steps:
Select from your bags those that are in good condition, and whose "zip" closure works.
It doesn't matter what size or color the piping is - red or green, we're happy with either!
Next, we'll ask you to unlabel each bag.
If the label doesn't come off cleanly, we won't be able to reuse it, so you can keep it.
We take back bags of all sizes, but they must be sorted and separated by format in the envelope (you can, for example, separate each format with a rubber band).
You will then need an envelope or flat cardboard box no more than 3 cm thick once filled. Please do not add anything else to your shipment!
Download and print the T-type return label.
Then stick it on your parcel and drop it off at a post office or yellow mailbox.
Please send us a minimum of 250g and a maximum of 500g of plastic bags. This represents between 400 and 800 standard-size bags (40mm x 60mm).
Thank you in advance for your kind gesture. As Jean-Etienne (the boss) says, "There's no such thing as a small gesture. "
