What is bias in sewing?
It's a strip of fabric cut at an oblique angle.
This strip of fabric is then folded several times to form a closed band, which is then placed around armholes, necklines and the like.
What's the use of bias?

How to sew a bias?
Before applying your bias, join your fabrics wrong sides together and overcast the edges with a zigzag stitch.
Unfold the bias on one side and pin the right side of your bias to the right side of your fabric, making sure the edges coincide.
Stitch along the bias fold.
Turn the bias to the wrong side so that it covers your fabric.
Press the seam with an iron.
Pin the unsewn side of the bias.
Stitch approx. 2 mm from edge.
