kumihimo is a traditional braiding technique from Japan. Today it is used extensively to make elegant cords for fashion jewellery and accessories.
You can use any kind of thread, for example :
- rattail cord
- leather cords
- stringing wire (brass...)
- ribbons
- raffia
- fabric bands...
You can also string beads on the threads.
