Make a multitude of chic and elegant DIY costume jewelry with this irregular keshi freshwater pearl !
What are freshwater pearls?Freshwater pearls are natural pearls bred in the fresh waters of rivers and lakes. These pearls are nucleated using organic material, usually a fragment of shell, so that the bead is made exclusively of mother-of-pearl. Nature never does the same thing twice, which is why beads vary in shape and size. Some are round or oval, others are long or twisted. It's these irregularities that give them their charm.
What are keshi beads?
Keshi beads are naturally layered with mother-of-pearl. Unlike other cultured pearls, they have no core.
This means that keshi pearls are essentially irregularly baroque in shape, as the mollusc no longer has a round support on which to build its nacre. It is particularly prized for its high lustre.
This freshwater bead is AAA grade, which means it has a very brilliant luster and is virtually flawless. Its excellent quality makes it ideal for dazzling creations.
