The punches are designed in hardened steel to withstand stamping on soft metals such as aluminium, pewter, copper, brass, 925 silver and hard metals up to 304 and 308 stainless steel as well as other metals up to a Rockwell hardness of 56 HRC. Sharp design edges ensure deep, clean impressions project after project. Designs are marked on the side of the stamp for easy identification and orientation.
How to engrave jewelry with ImpressArt material? For example, how do you engrave a medal? To do metal engraving, you will need ahammer, an alphabet punch, some tape, ajeweler's stack (tapping block) and a bracelet.
1. Place your bracelet to be formed on the pile (the tapping block).
2. Determine where you want to engrave. Use the tape to "fix" your bracelet but also to guide you when punching.
3. Place your number punch vertically and tap the punch with a hammer. A sharp, clean blow will mark your metal.
4. Finish your engraving by passing acrylic ink to blacken your design. Remove excess ink with a soft cloth.
