Art clay Silver is composed of very fine silver powder, an organic binder and water.
Once dry, the shaped object can be fused with heat (650°C), eliminating water and binder, leaving 99.9% pure silver. The silver object can then be polished.
We advise you to create simple models at first, with a little practice, then let your imagination run wild...
Tip: It's important to add water as you work with Art Clay Silver (ACS) because it dries very quickly. Once dry, it becomes as hard as plaster and can be worked with file, cutter...

Kiln firing:
1. Heat from room temperature up to 500°C (932°F) → 30 min bearing
2. Raise to 870 °C (1598 °F) → 60 min increment
3. Turn off the oven and allow to cool to 200°C (392°F) before opening.
Total time approx. 3h depending on oven
Cooking with a blowtorch:
1. Place the piece on a refractory brick.
2. Direct the flame until the piece turns orange.
3. Maintain this color for 2-3 minutes.
Important tips
Always allow the piece to dry thoroughly before firing (otherwise it will crack).
Allow a minimum thickness of 1 mm (1.5-2 mm for rings).
After firing, the piece is 99.9% pure silver and can be polished, burnished, hammered, etc.
In general, the higher the temperature, the shorter the bearing. But if you're looking for a very robust result, you may want to extend the step.
Note: shrinkage increases with higher temperature and longer bearing. Your part may shrink by 8-9%.
But it all depends on the size of your part and the way the oven works.
