How to set a cabochon?
Use your pliers to spread the prongs of your setting slightly. Place your cabochon, then tighten the setting's claws with your pliers.
If you're not quite sure, glue your cabochon in place with a little jewelry glue before closing the setting's claws.

What should I use to clean gold plating?
Here are a few tips, but there are others...
- Water and baking soda. Dissolve the baking soda in hot water, soak a cloth, wipe clean and dry.
- With breadcrumbs. Rub jewel with breadcrumbs.
- With toothpaste. Put a little toothpaste on a cloth dampened with water, rub gently, rinse with clear water, wipe with a fine cloth, then polish with a microfiber cloth.
