You can use rhinestones or cabochons with flat bottoms of 8 or 10 mm such as Solaris PureCrystal 2611 10 mm or PureCrystal crystals 5817 8 mm.
For DIY designs with an ethnic style, you also have 8mm gem cabochons.
To fix your cabochons, strass ... use strong glue.
