Kids
A toy is defined as any product or material designed or clearly intended to be used for play by children under the age of 14 years. Regulations require that a toy must have :
- The CE marking
- CE certification
- And comply with EN 71 with the 3 main chapters 71-1 71-2 71-3 under presence of the test reports,
A product is considered to be a toy only if it is a finished product.
A short reminder of the EN 71 standard:
The EN 71 standard comes from the European Council Directive 88/378/EEC. This European standard sets the requirements and describes the test methods to be taken into consideration when manufacturing toys. Its aim is to reduce as far as possible risks that are not obvious to users.
