"Silk Satin" Delica beads are made of fiberglass to achieve a "silk satin" effect, which makes these beads more fragile than standard Delica beads and slightly more irregular in shape. The fiberglass edge protrudes and may cut the weaving thread.
Here are a few tips for using Miyuki Delica Silk beads so you can enjoy their look without the drawbacks:
- Use this ultra-strong Fireline thread
- Do not use Silk beads on the edges of your weaves. Their edges are slightly sharp and may cut the thread. Use them inside the weave.
- Ideally, use them sparingly in your weaves
- Avoid using them in weaves where the thread might rub against the edges of the beads. For example: the center section of a herringbone weave.

The colors found in Miyuki mixes are created by dyeing several colors—which were already mixed during the previous manufacturing process—simultaneously. This can vary depending on the date of manufacture. As a result, the final color isn’t specific to each individual color present in the mix. Individual colors aren’t listed or sold separately.
