This hardened Carbon Steel cutting jig is ideal for cutting and filing metal tubing, wire, strip or plate for DIY costume jewelry creation.
The two knurled wheels on the top of this miter gauge vise are perfect for locking the wire when cutting with the bocil, filing or sanding, ensuring safety while you work.
With many slots, it will allow you to make right angle (90°) or bevelled angle (45°) cuts, cut solid square or round wires and tubes of different diameters.
How to use this cutting clamp?
1. Loosen the knurls, insert your workpiece to be cut or filed, then tighten the knurls. Leave the part to be worked on protruding.
2. File or cut your workpiece.
Two guide bars will help you hold the workpiece perfectly in place to make repeated, precise cuts that are uniform in size and shape. For example, to make cuts at a 45° angle, the stop bar is placed at 45° to the vise blade. Then simply place the workpiece against the stop bar and tighten the knurls.
