What is a soutache?
Sutache is a narrow, flat, braided and textured braid. Traditionally used in the decoration of clothing or lampshades, soutache is now experiencing a revival with the trend of textile jewelry and bead embroidery.
It can be made of different materials (viscose, cotton, wool, silk, polyester ...) and is applied with various techniques. Indeed, the tape can be used in sewing, embroidery, jewelry, etc..
Tip: When you cut the soutache, the end frays. Before cutting it, put a piece of tape and cut at that point.
