A great alternative to silver, stainless steel—as its name suggests—is rust-resistant, strong, and durable; it doesn’t corrode and is highly scratch-resistant. It’s an alloy of iron, carbon, nickel, and chromium.
Even though stainless steel contains nickel particles, since these are locked within the alloy, they cannot be released—which is why stainless steel is a hypoallergenic metal that does not irritate the skin.
How do you clean stainless steel?
There are many ways to clean stainless steel; here are a few:
Apply a mixture of hot water and baking soda with a cloth, then rinse.
Dish soap works, too.
You can also use lemon oil: soak a cloth in it and wipe your jewelry down.
